Cowboy Poetry

At the 24th annual Western Music & Cowboy Poetry Gathering there will be musicians and mountain men, poets and painters, singers and songwriters and shooters, craftsman of all kinds, good grub, and a host of friendly folks wanting to insure you have a great time.

At the Buckaroo Fair, the Cowcamp and Chuckwagon Stages are only $10 bucks. Musicians and poets appear on these stages every 30 minutes. At the Buckaroo Fair you’ll find lots of great western stuff, including saddles, boots, belts, hats, paintings and sculptures and 2018 Gathering memorabilia. The Mountain Man Camp, Cowboy Mounted Shooters, Tom’s Cabin and the Buckaroo Fair on Thursday night are free to all. Bring your whole family and have a great time, starting with the Cowboy Kickoff Dinner Show on Wednesday October 24th; the Cowboy Express Train and symphony show on Thursday; and a full line-up all day Friday and Saturday.

Starting as a simple get-together in the mid-90s, this is one of Utah’s most popular gatherings and brings visitors back to Heber Valley year after year.

Fall Fest at the Homestead

On October 6, the Homestead Family Fall Festival is free and includes something for everyone.

You can walk through scarecrows and vote for your favorite or visit the pumpkin patch and pick one to carve. The Market features local Utah vendors offering specialty soaps, jewelry, face painting and much more! Acoustic Echo will be playing live music and there will be an à la carte BBQ available to purchase some snacks.

Pumpkin Festival at Heber Valley Railroad

Pumpkins are one of the fall season’s great symbols and our historic Heber Valley Railroad celebrates them with a pumpkin train every year.

The kid friendly Pumpkin Train is a fall favorite.  It includes a short 40-minute round trip train ride on the famous Heber Creeper!  On board you’ll enjoy songs and a yummy pumpkin cookie. At the depot take a stroll through our haunted car and visit the pumpkin patch to take home your very own.

Sleepy Hollow Hayride

Take a horse-drawn wagon through Sleepy Hollow’s haunted woods and hope you don’t come face-to-face with the dreaded Headless Horseman.

At Soldier Hollow, you can ride on a mile-long adventure through the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. And after that, a spectacular encounter with the Headless Horseman awaits at the end of this family-friendly event. Calm things down with refreshments, and a visit to the pumpkin patch afterwards.

This October, make Homestead Resort your go-to accommodation while enjoying Heber Valley’s variety of fall family activities. Book your stay at the Homestead right away!
